Saying Yes, Creating Opportunities and Thriving Together
The Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania’s Community Engagement Specialist recently attended the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC’s Thrive Together luncheon, featuring a fireside chat with Jamie Berger, founder and CEO of C&J Catering.
Berger shared how C&J Catering began as a side hustle between two single mothers who alternated weeks to balance entrepreneurship and parenthood. Her willingness to say “yes” to new opportunities helped the business grow, while challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic provided valuable lessons in resilience and adaptability.
Berger’s larger message centered on creating opportunities, building meaningful connections and giving people a chance. That commitment is reflected in C&J Catering’s second-chance program, which helps individuals access opportunities to work, grow and move forward.
The luncheon offered an inspiring reminder that thriving together requires more than individual success. It happens when leaders open doors, invest in people and remain willing to say yes to the connections and possibilities that strengthen the entire community.
