Celebrating Women in Tech: Highlights from the 2024 Women In Technology Awards
On September 25, 2024, the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania (TCCP) hosted the 8th annual Women In Technology Awards at the West Shore Country Club in Camp Hill, PA. The event celebrated the achievements of extraordinary women and their allies who are driving innovation, fostering inclusivity, and inspiring others in the Central Pennsylvania tech community.
Honoring Excellence in Technology
Seven exceptional women were recognized for their outstanding contributions across various sectors. Here’s a closer look at this year’s winners:
- Next Gen Award: Christina Milano-Damaskos, Co-Founder & CEO of Athlon, Inc., recognized as a rising star making significant strides in the tech industry.
- Moxie Award: Stephanie Blanda, Assistant Professor of Mathematical Sciences at Lebanon Valley College, honored for paving the way for other women in technology.
- Diversity & Inclusion Award: Jakyra Simpson, CEO/Founder of STEAM Sneakerheadz, celebrated for her active commitment to fostering inclusivity in tech.
- Women In Tech Ally Award: Deepa Moorthy, Senior Salesforce Admin at Warrior Tech Solutions, acknowledged for empowering women in tech as an advocate and ally.
- Impact Award – Private Sector (Medium to Large Business): Tina Tennant, Senior Technical Business Consultant at Capital Blue Cross, recognized for her positive influence in the corporate tech space.
- Impact Award – Private Sector (Entrepreneur to Small Business): Alyson Boehr, Formulations Associate at Phospholutions, Inc., commended for her contributions to the entrepreneurial tech sector.
- Impact Award – Public Sector/Government: Jennifer Leinbach, Executive Director at Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority and Office of Technology Investment, celebrated for her impact on public sector technology.
Empowering the Next Generation
TCCP also awarded scholarships to three outstanding students, sponsored by Itero Group, to support their education and future contributions to the tech industry:
- Aastha Rijal: Franklin & Marshall College, Class of 2026, majoring in Computer Science and Data Science.
- Danielle Strausburger: Elizabethtown College, Class of 2025, majoring in Computer Science.
