We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator to join our team and take immediate ownership of infrastructure and security operations. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will independently manage critical systems, implement best practices, and drive security initiatives while guiding and mentoring the team. The ideal candidate is self-driven, strategic, and capable of making high-impact decisions with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

Take full ownership of web and database infrastructure across multiple servers.

Harden servers, load balancers, databases, and application stacks for security, stability, and performance.

Deploy, configure, and optimize advanced security solutions, including WAF, bot management, rate limiting, and Zero Trust frameworks.

Implement centralized logging, real-time monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.

Conduct penetration testing, remediate vulnerabilities, and maintain a strong security posture.

Standardize infrastructure, security, and operational processes across multiple environments and applications.

Manage Linux-based production environments, including server provisioning, configuration, automation, and compliance.

Lead internal IT projects, server migrations, backups, and disaster recovery planning.

Mentor and guide team members while taking primary responsibility for hands-on implementation.

Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to define technology strategy and roadmap.

Support security service offerings, including client-facing assessments, audits, and consulting.

Requirements

7+ years managing Linux production environments in multi-server configurations.

Expertise with LAMP stack and securing web applications across frameworks such as WordPress, Drupal, Magento, Joomla, OpenCart, and custom PHP applications.

Strong experience with load balancing, high-availability setups, and performance tuning (HAProxy, Nginx, etc.).

In-depth knowledge of web and server security standards (OWASP, CIS) and tools (ModSecurity, fail2ban, firewalls).

Experience with enterprise security services such as Cloudflare (WAF, Workers, Zero Trust, R2).

Skilled in monitoring, logging, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.

Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

Security certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, or CCSP.

Experience with Cloudflare Load Balancing, multi-data center architectures, and database clustering (MySQL Group Replication, etc.).

Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Podman) and DevSecOps practices.

Experience in client-facing technical consulting or selling technical services.
