Women In Tech Virtual Breakfast: Behind the Scenes of CYBER QUEENS

Thursday, January 19, 2023 (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM) (EST)

Description

When she and two of her colleagues reflected on their journeys into cyber and those of women around them, they realized most of the women pivot to cyber as a ‘Plan B’ and that their success is much slower and later in life as a result.  They found that a lot of women think, “I could never excel in cybersecurity,” until they have no choice but to try and find out if they’ll fail.   Join Nathalie Baker as she shares how and why she and two colleagues started the CYBER QUEENS podcast as a way to uncover why women are so outnumbered in cybersecurity and explore what can be done to change things moving forward.

Nathalie Baker started her technical career in the U.S. Army and has taken on various roles there and in the private sector over the past 12 years including Linux System Administration and System Automation. Eventually, elevating her career to Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager where she currently leads a team of five SOC analysts who serve as the first line of defense against adversaries for SMBs throughout the Commonwealth. Nathalie’s passion for The CYBER QUEENS Podcast comes from her personal pride in being very active in the LinkedIn community and helping others get their foot in the door to Cybersecurity, which is a central theme in her content helping young candidates set themselves apart. Nathalie also mentors women who are trying to break into other male-dominated fields.
