Tech Contracts And Procurement

Thursday, October 21, 2021 (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM) (EDT)

Description

Join William “Buddy” Gillespie, HCISPP, ITILv3, HIT Consulting and Louise Hutchinson, Esquire, CIPP/US, Bybel Rutledge LLP, as they review best practices and pitfalls to avoid when acquiring systems and services. Purchasing systems and services can be complex, requiring knowledge of fundamental procurement and contracting issues. Our technology world is moving fast. Unfortunately many companies find they don’t have the necessary working knowledge to quickly respond to necessary acquisitions. This webinar reviews vendor evaluation and selection, contract negotiation and vendor relationship management. Key to vendor selection is the relationships developed with vendors that improve the understanding of requirements and pave the way for more successful contract negotiations. Real world experience will be shared to demonstrate use of session topics and tools. We will:

•Define and explain complex issues inherent in procurement management and contract administration which are crucial to a successful acquisition, contract close-out and implementation.

• Review the importance of a comprehensive pre-procurement organizational analysis and selection criteria.

• Identify both the conflicting and congruent goals of purchaser and supplier, and create a construct for mutually-beneficial contract negotiation and close-out.

• Explore a real-world case-study on how to improve the ability to plan, organize and implement a successful procurement and contract administration.
